Health care providers in Africa have to deal with so many challenges of delivering health care to their patients. Amongst them is dealing with long queues of waiting patients, collating patient data in an efficient way, managing medical supplies to ensure that they do not run out of stock, and more importantly revenue collection. Africa eHealth Solution is changing this trend and making an impact in strengthening the health care system in Africa and are presently active in Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa and Indonesia.
Its flagship projects are (1) the intelligent hospital system (AfyaPro software) is a full hospital system with a powerful electronic medical record, lab, imaging, pharmacy, billing and all other functionalities to take full control of the health facility, even from a distance. Fully integrated with the hospital system is the cardio and diabetes call centre. Through the diabetes app, patients can take action of their own diabetes condition before it deteriorates. They can easily monitor and make appointments to see their doctor. A nurse follows them at clinic based on the interconnected patient dashboard, see www.africaehs.org.
Social impact work is done through the Africa eHealth Foundation that focusses at Access to Quality Care for All. The focus areas are: (1) Performance improvement of Faith Based Hospitals, (2) Mental Health and (3) Community Empowerment related health issues, (see www.ecareaccess.org)
